Sports Performance: Cell Care The Evolution

The benefits of silica have a direct impact on improved sports performance. Silica is essential for maintaining healthy bones and teeth; stronger bones can help prevent injuries and enhance overall athletic performance. Additionally, silica aids in the repair of damaged skin and reduces inflammation, which is particularly beneficial for athletes who often experience skin issues or inflammation from rigorous training.

Ionic silica plays a role in cell oxygenation and regeneration. Research indicates that ionic silica can protect against oxidative damage and promote the regeneration of skeletal muscle cells. Furthermore, silicate ions released from silica-based biomaterials have been shown to accelerate osteogenesis (bone formation) and angiogenesis (the development of new blood vessels), suggesting that ionic silica may aid in bone regeneration, especially following sports injuries. One study found that ionic silicon released from silica-based materials can upregulate hypoxia-inducible factor-1α, a key regulator of cell oxygenation. These findings indicate that ionic silica may positively affect cell oxygenation and regeneration, which are crucial for sports performance, conditioning, endurance, and quick muscle recovery.

Based on our research, there is evidence to suggest that silica may also promote heart health and improve blood flow. One study showed that ionic silica could protect against oxidative damage and support the regeneration of skeletal muscle cells. More findings will be shared as they become available.
